Reimagining Dance:

A Screendance-making Workshop

Conducted by Mitchell Rose

What it is

Dance-filmmakers have to be both artists and technicians. Yes, we’ll learn technical principles of cinematography and software use. But more importantly, we’re learning the art of bringing life to the two-dimensional with our cameras and sculpting time with our editing.

The class meets once a week for six weeks. (There are two weeks between the 5th and 6th class for production.) You can join live, watch the Zoom recording on your own time, or a mix of whatever works for you.

Each three-hour session is two hours of instruction/viewing/discussion followed by an hour of critiquing the assignment from the previous week. At the end of the course each participant will have create a fully-edited screendance.
